Make a WebP, or turn a WebP into JPG or PNG
This page has two directions. To WebP makes a WebP. From WebP turns a WebP you already have into a JPG or a PNG. JPG and JPEG are the same format here.
JPG has no transparency. Transparent pixels are placed on this color. The default is white.

How the two directions work
Add the file first. If every file is already WebP, From WebP is selected until you change it. There is no account.
- Use Browse files, or drop the image. The page accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Up to 20 files, each up to 25 MB.
- To WebP writes a .webp file. Quality starts at 80 and can move from 60 to 95. There is no lossless WebP switch.
- From WebP then offers JPG or PNG. JPG starts at quality 90 and shows Background for JPG, white at the start. PNG hides Quality.
- Press WebP converter.
- Each rewritten file shows both sizes, the dimensions, and whether it got smaller or larger. Download names the format. Download all appears when two or more succeed.
When you want a WebP
Use To WebP for a JPG or PNG you want to store as WebP. The upright pixel size stays. A JPEG saved on its side is written upright.
The WebP from this page is lossy. A lower quality number is usually a smaller, softer file. Transparent pixels from a PNG can be kept. Choose it when the place that will open the file accepts WebP. A WebP from this page is not always smaller, and it is not a promise of a faster page.
A file that is already WebP is downloaded unchanged until you move Quality. The motion in an animated WebP stays in that unchanged download. Moving Quality writes a new still WebP of the first frame.
When you already have a WebP
Use From WebP when a WebP needs to become a JPG or a PNG. A JPG is the usual file for email, Office, and an upload form that does not accept WebP. A PNG is the usual file when you need the transparent pixels.
This direction accepts WebP only. A JPG or PNG added here fails on that file, and the message points you to To WebP or to the image converter. Current browsers can display a still WebP. The reason to leave the format is the other app, not a claim that browsers cannot open it.
JPG cannot store a clear pixel, so those pixels are drawn on the background color. PNG keeps them, has no quality slider, and is often much larger. The result says by how much.
Smaller or larger, for this file
A rewritten file says Saved n%, or n% larger than the original, or that the size did not change. The percentage is the change measured against the original file, rounded to the nearest whole number.
A photo JPG often gets smaller as WebP. A small PNG, a flat graphic, or a transparent PNG can get larger. Both results are normal. If you need a particular size in kilobytes, compress the file you just made.
Animation, camera data, and pixels
The preview of an animated WebP shows one frame. If the original WebP was kept, the download is still that file, motion included. A JPG, a PNG, or a WebP rewritten after you move Quality contains the first frame only, as a still image. The card does not repeat that.
A newly written file does not keep the camera model, the time, or the location. The dimensions are the upright picture. This page does not crop or resize. A GIF is not converted.
This is not the general converter
JPG to PNG, with WebP not involved, belongs on the image converter. This page stays on one job: into WebP, or out of WebP.
| Compared | WebP converter | Image converter |
|---|---|---|
| The job | Into WebP, or out of WebP | JPG, PNG, or WebP, either way |
| What you choose | To WebP, or From WebP and then JPG or PNG | One output format |
| After the file is written | Says if it got smaller or larger | Shows both sizes |
The image is not uploaded
The WebP is read and written in the browser that opened this page. PixZeno does not receive it for conversion.
If you send the result to another tool on this site, this browser keeps a temporary copy so the next page can open it. That copy stays on this device. Clear images saved in this browser, in the footer, removes it.
Questions
How do I turn a WebP into a JPG?
Choose From WebP, then JPG. Quality starts at 90. If the WebP has transparent pixels, they are drawn on the background color. White is the start.
Will a transparent WebP stay transparent as a PNG?
Yes for a still WebP. Choose From WebP, then PNG. The clear pixels are kept. An animated WebP contributes its first frame only.
Is a WebP always smaller?
No. A photo JPG often is. A small or flat PNG can become larger. The result says which happened for that file.
What does the percentage on the result mean?
Saved n% means the new file is about that much smaller than the original. n% larger means it grew by about that share of the original size. The number is rounded.
Does an animated WebP stay animated?
Only if it is already WebP and you leave Quality alone. The download is then the original file. JPG, PNG, and a rewritten WebP keep the first frame as a still image.
Is the image uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in your browser. A temporary copy can stay in this browser only if you send the result to another tool.
